Happy Sabbath friends!
The book of Lamentations narrates the cries to the Lord about the destruction of Jerusalem. The people mourn the current state of ruin and reminisce the city that was once rich and prosperous. They gather together and call unto God in distress. They pour out their sadness, anguish, and pain and seek answers about the cause of their suffering. Yet, in the moments of grief, there is hope. Chapter 3 is a reminder of what is unfailing, constant, and loving.
Yet this I call to mind and therefore I have hope: Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for His compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. I say to myself, “The Lord is my portion; therefore I will wait for Him.”

These past weeks have brought a world of suffering. Sickness, anxiety, sadness, loneliness, and uncertainties are only some of the emotions we see in ourselves and in those around us. This Sabbath, let us look beyond this state, and be reminded of Him whose compassions never fail.
May the service draw you close to His presence, and give you renewed strength for the week ahead. Rest in His word, and trust in His promises. Great is His faithfulness.
